Clipper Round the World Race won by Canadian
The 2013-14 Clipper Round the World Race was won by Canadian Eric Holden (Vancouver, BC), skipper of the Henri Lloyd. The amateur crew, including five Canadians, endured 11 months at sea battling hurricanes and tornadoes in the world’s longest ocean race.
Eric's Canadian crew including Fiona Garforth-Bles (nurse, Bragg Creek AB), James Dick (heavy duty mechanic, Victoria BC), Michael Jauncey (construction inspector, Toronto ON), Morgan Watson (student, Calgary AB), and Phil Driver (finance exec, living in UK). Eric's comments about his crew, 'The whole team had a hand on the wheels as we drove across the line, as we all put in a huge effort in getting us here.'
